Hours & Pickup Policy

JONAS DAY CARE hours are 6:30 am to 6:00 pm
Late fee is $1/min

Children may be picked up only by authorized persons between our hours of operation.

Inform JONAS DAY CARE in advance if the child(ren) cannot be brought or picked up at the regular time. Your child(ren) will ONLY be released to authorized persons, or in case of emergency pick up by non authorized person, parent must inform JONAS DAY CARE the persons name/relationship to child and they must have proper identification.

Safety is of the utmost importance, no child will be released to any parent who is obviously drunk, on drugs, or otherwise impaired in the provider’s opinion.

Behavior Management and Discipline Policy

Discipline provides an opportunity to enable a child to develop self-control. When a child is having a difficult time following directions or treating others or property with respect, developmentally appropriate guidance techniques will be used.

These techniques are as follows:

  • Providing an example for children by speaking and interacting with them in a positive manner.
  • Rewarding acceptable behavior.
  • Redirecting a child to an alternate activity.
  • Brief separation from the group.
(This technique will only be used when a child’s behavior harms or is likely to result in harm to the child, others or property.)
Health and Safety Policy

When an evacuation is needed the home daycare will relocate at Mother Seton Parish across street. Fire drill is practiced once a month.
You may never know when a child might get sick. If the child is running a fever of 99.9 the parent will be notified and the child will have to get picked up at the home daycare. Also, provider will contact parent if the child has an unexplained rash, vomiting or diarrhea. Parents are expected to pick the child up within an hour. The child may not return for at least 24 hours free of symptoms. Please do not bring a sick child.

Sick Care Policy

Please notify us no later than 8:00 a.m. if your child will not attend care that day. Should your child become ill during his/her day in care, you will be called and we will determine the best course of action regarding appropriate care, which may include the child being picked up and taken home.

Provider reserves the right not to provide care for a child who is, in Provider’s sole judgment, ill or contagious.

No child will be accepted if he/she has any symptoms requiring constant one on one care, has a fever above 99.9, is vomiting, has excessive diarrhea, constant runny nose and/or has green or yellow thick mucus, hacking or continuous cough, any suspicious rash, any illness accompanied by open bacterial infections and/or any severe discomfort, or any potentially contagious disorder.

If there are any questions about whether you should bring your child or not, please call. Please keep your child home whenever they have a fever above 99.9 or during the first two days of a bad cold or cough in consideration of other children and our caregivers. It is important for all of us to think of each other.

Any medication to be given must come in a clearly labeled, original prescription bottle with dosage information. Non-prescription medicine, if needed, will also be administered, if provided by parent. Written permission is required for all prescribed medications that JONAS DAY CARE agrees to administer.

A child returning to child care following a contagious, serious, prolonged illness, surgery or other hospitalization must have written permission by the health care provider to attend child care.
